Brass, aka yellow; They are yellow colored alloys obtained by mixing copper element with zinc. To mention other elements that can be found in yellow are tin, lead, nickel, manganese, iron, aluminum, arsenic, antimony and phosphorus. Some brasses containing manganese are also called bronze. In fact, gunmetal (or bronze) is a copper-tin alloy.
Brass is a very tough and easily processed material. Malleability is dependent on copper content. As the zinc content in copper increases, the yellow becomes harder. As its strength increases, its ability to be easily processed decreases and becomes harder.
